Nat Belin has loved art for as long as he can remember. Nat has been drawing since 1987. He was dubbed "Ambassador of Caricaturists" by Winston-Salem Mayor Jack Cavanagh.
Nat usually begins a caricature by looking at a photo of his subject. He then "messes around" with a number two pencil, freely sketching the subject. He goes over the lines he likes with an ink pen, erases the rest, and then "sharpens up" his colored pencils. Though the blended colors in his caricatures often look like paint, they are really all done with colored pencils.
His exaggerated portraits have graced the cover of Triad Style, Salem Star, the pages of International Juggle magazine , and Art Business News.
He has also been featured on Fox 8 WGHP as one of Roy's Folks, andWXII 12's Caricatures of Stepin' Down. Nat graduated from www.artists-ais.edu and received the "Outstanding Graduate of the Year" award.
